Job summary

Family Dollar in Lancaster, SC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop the store team. This full-time role includes merchandising, payroll and scheduling, and ensuring safety and policy compliance.

The candidate will help manage merchandise flow from delivery to sales floor, maintain stockroom organization, and support a positive, efficient shopping experience for customers and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform required movements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and operations.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Oversee merchandise flow from delivery to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Support payroll, scheduling, and cash handling, and contribute to loss prevention.
• Maintain store cleanliness, fixtures, and stockroom organization.
• Supervise and develop Store Associates and ensure policy compliance.
• Foster a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
