Job summary

Family Dollar in Lancaster, SC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. This role assists with daily functions, merchandise flow, and loss prevention while ensuring a clean, well-stocked store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent movement including walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect all store assets, including cash, and follow safety policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
