Job summary

Family Dollar in Utah is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver outstanding customer service, and support team development. You will assist with merchandising, stock transfers, opening/closing procedures, payroll records, scheduling, and loss prevention while keeping the store clean, safe, and well organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred and ability to read and interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent customer service, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing, transferring merchandise, and maintaining seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling tasks.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record-keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and company procedures.
• Help supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful store environment.
• Ensure cleanliness of bathrooms, floors, and general areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
