Job summary

Family Dollar in Ivins, Utah is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help manage merchandise flow, execute corporate directives, protect assets, and maintain a clean, welcoming store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics).
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness, restocking bathrooms, sweeping/mopping floors, taking out trash.
