Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development at our Federal Heights, CO location. You will help with day-to-day activities, merchandise organization, and staff supervision to ensure a safe, clean and productive store environment.

You will assist with payroll, scheduling, and cash handling while maintaining promotional displays and adhering to company policies. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow them.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
