Job summary

True North is hiring an Assistant Manager to oversee daily store operations in a fast-paced convenience setting. You will lead shifts, hire and train staff, manage scheduling, and ensure a fast, friendly guest experience.

You will also handle staffing, inventory, labor, cash controls, and maintenance to support strong store performance. The role emphasizes visible leadership, customer service excellence, and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior customer service or cashier experience is required.
• Experience supervising others is preferred.
• Must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and be on duty or on call.
• Must have access to a reliable vehicle for banking purposes and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations, including hiring, training, and scheduling team members.
• Provide active floor leadership and address workflow gaps during shifts.
• Provide prompt, courteous customer service and process transactions using POS.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment.
• Ensure food service tasks follow safety and sanitation requirements.
• Act as manager-on-duty during shifts and coach team members in real time.
• Recruit and train new team members and run daily reports and banking procedures.
• Develop plans to maximize sales and meet goals using available reports.
