Job summary

At Home Group in York, PA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager – Operations to support the Store Manager in leading store operations, financials, and team functions within a large-format retail environment.

This role drives store performance with annual sales typically ranging from $4–$10 million by supporting efficient store operations, maintaining strong execution standards, and delivering an exceptional experience for both Team Members and customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in big-box/high-volume retail.
• Experience leading 20+ Team Members and managing $5M+ in annual revenue or budget.
• Knowledge of freight processes, inventory control, stocking, and merchandising.
• Customer-focused mindset with a track record of in-store excellence.
• Demonstrated integrity and reliability with ethical business practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive execution of store operations to meet sales, profit, and performance goals.
• Attract, hire, and develop talent; build internal bench strength.
• Coach, train, and develop staff; support internal career growth.
• Manage staffing, scheduling and payroll accuracy; monitor metrics.
• Plan and oversee operations, including opening/closing and front-end processes.
• Direct freight, inventory, stocking, and merchandising to maintain in-stock conditions.
• Lead efforts in customer satisfaction, shrink control, safety, and loss prevention.
• Address Team Member and customer concerns with urgency and integrity.
