Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for the Donated Goods Program. You will lead day-to-day store operations and the donation area under the Store Manager and District Manager guidance.

The role requires managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, coordinating schedules, training, and maintaining compliance with policies and safety rules. Strong communication and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Management experience is preferred.
• One to two years of retail sales experience is preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, evenings, weekends.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all store operations, including opening/closing and managing associates.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff per policy.
• Adhere to rotating schedules and manage time effectively.
• Support leadership needs and maintain productive workforce.
• Ensure cash handling accuracy and proper POS operations.
• Coach and document performance while monitoring progress.
• Prepare discipline actions as needed and manage stock/orders.
