Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our La Porte, IN location. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, and daily administrative tasks while ensuring strong loss prevention and safety practices.

The role requires a high school diploma (preferred), store management experience, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle repetitive movement and standing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and compliance.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure store areas are neat and presentable.
