Job summary

Dollar Tree in Washington, DC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor, and maintain seasonal areas.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a high-energy team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Follow corporate directives and communicate store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, and handle payroll, scheduling, and cash receipts
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation
• Other duties as assigned
