Family Dollar in Kaplan, LA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, opening/closing tasks, and ensuring compliance with corporate directives while maintaining a safe, welcoming store environment.

The role emphasizes staff training, loss prevention, and delivering a high-quality shopping experience for customers, with a focus on organization and efficiency in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle routine physical tasks such as walking, standing, and lifting

Responsabilités

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling/cash handling, and loss prevention
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom
• Protect store assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Keep store clean including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal
• Other duties as assigned
