Job summary

Family Dollar in Haughton, LA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with daily store activities and supervise Store Associates.

The role focuses on maintaining a clean, well-stocked store, processing payroll and scheduling, and ensuring policy compliance. You will train staff, foster a positive environment, and protect company assets while delivering friendly service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and secure store assets.
• Ensure policy compliance and supervise/train Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain bathrooms and floors; keep areas neat and presentable.
• Other duties as assigned.
