Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, drive customer service excellence, and develop team members at our Hillside, IL location.

You will assist with opening/closing, merchandise flow, inventory control, and loss prevention, while upholding company policies. A high school diploma and retail leadership experience are preferred; lifting up to 55 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise flow from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record-keeping including payroll and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable; manage bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
