Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to uphold a customer-first store environment. You will support the Store Manager in supervising staff, merchandising, deposits, and paperwork while ensuring profitability and asset protection.

This role involves stocking, cashiering, and implementing company procedures, with emphasis on training, safety, and planogram compliance to drive sales and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in a retail environment and supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling and training of employees; conduct safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and care on damages and markdowns.
• Ensure planograms are followed and merchandise presented as directed.
• Maintain cashier accountability and cash control procedures; handle refunds/overrides.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager’s absence.
