Job summary

Rural King is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Indiana to oversee inventory, lead associates, and drive customer engagement. The role requires strong leadership, coaching ability, and a focus on operational excellence in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will mentor staff, conduct performance reviews, manage hiring decisions, and ensure safety and policy compliance while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of retail experience or equivalent.
• Proven leadership and coaching ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and develop associates.
• Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork and accountability.
• Comfortable with computer systems and store software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and displays to optimize sales and customer satisfaction.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate associates; make hiring and performance decisions as needed.
• Conduct performance reviews and set expectations for team members.
• Ensure store operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Support customer engagement, resolve issues, and enhance the shopping experience.
• Participate in cross-training and foster a positive, inclusive work environment.
• Assist in audits for cash handling, transactions, and inventory controls.
• Collaborate with Store Manager to achieve goals and drive initiatives.
