Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in our Portland location. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and help supervise and train Store Associates to maintain a high-energy environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, processing directives, and maintaining clean, well-stocked areas. This role emphasizes safety, customer care, and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise transfer from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and scheduling records, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas clean, stocked, and presentable; protect assets.
• Ensure policies and safety procedures are followed.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Uphold a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness including restrooms, floors, and trash.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
