Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in our Portland, Oregon location. You will help supervise daily activities, train associates, and ensure customer satisfaction while upholding company standards.

This role emphasizes hands-on leadership in a high-volume retail environment, with responsibilities including opening/closing procedures, merchandising, scheduling, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking/standing
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner
• Organize and transfer merchandise between areas and maintain seasonal displays
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, records, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and secure assets
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment
• Clean and restock restrooms, floors, and dispose of trash
• Other duties as assigned
