Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop the store team. You will assist with merchandise organization, payroll and scheduling tasks, and ensure compliance with company policies.

In this role you will support opening and closing procedures, safeguard store assets, and maintain a clean, welcoming shopping environment for customers and staff. Prior retail leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Experience working in a high-energy team environment preferred.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Support customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise and transfer from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and handling payroll, scheduling and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follows procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment for customers and staff.
