Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Indiana LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, operations, and staff supervision to ensure a smooth, customer-focused shopping experience.

The role emphasizes managing day-to-day store activities, maintaining product displays, and upholding company policies while fostering a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, bathrooms stocked, floors swept/mopped, trash removed, and areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
