Job summary

Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago is seeking a Retail Supervisor to assist with store and donation center operations in Joliet, IL. You will motivate the team to meet customer satisfaction and production standards, while supporting merchandising efforts and coaching staff to engage customers.

The role involves supervising daily operations, coaching employees, and ensuring proper cash controls and loss prevention steps are followed.

Qualifications

• Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to complete and retain forklift certification.
• Work varied schedule with a minimum of two closing shifts per week and every other weekend as scheduled.
• Must have a working phone that allows for communication accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage own work to complete routine responsibilities.
• Provide guidance and supervision to store and donation center staff.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, and programs.
• Act as an ambassador for Goodwill in the community and participate in volunteer opportunities.
• Maximize value of donated goods and maintain store and production standards.
• Coordinate proper rotation of goods to ensure fresh merchandise flow.
• Support training and coaching to maximize team productivity and coverage at POS and donations.
• Assist with hiring processes: phone screens and training as needed.
• Operate as service experience leader (SEL); manage tills, customer flow, and cash controls.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment and ensure equipment safety.
• Follow loss prevention policies in apprehensions and incident handling.
• Complete required reports accurately and on time; share insights with leadership.
• Communicate and implement policies, reporting concerns as needed.
• Plan and organize work assignments to improve customer service and asset protection.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
