Job summary

Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago is seeking a Retail Supervisor to assist with store and donation center operations, motivate the team, and ensure customer satisfaction and production goals are met.

You will supervise daily tasks, manage scheduling with two closing shifts weekly, handle cash controls, and uphold safety and loss-prevention standards while engaging with the community. The role emphasizes teamwork and community impact.

Qualifications

• Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to complete and retain forklift certification.
• Work varied schedule and flexible hours; a minimum of two closing shifts per week and every other weekend as scheduled. Additional nights and weekend shifts may be required to meet business needs.
• Must have working phone that allows for communication accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage own work to reliably complete routine duties.
• Provide close supervision for routine work with guidance from manager.
• Apply basic customer service fundamentals and respond to routine requests.
• Serve as Goodwill ambassador and engage in community volunteering when possible.
• Maximize value of donated goods and maintain store production standards.
• Coordinate proper rotation of goods to keep new merchandise flowing.
• Support training and coaching of employees; ensure adequate POS coverage.
• Assist with hiring process; conduct phone screens and training as needed.
• Operate register, manage tills, maintain flow, and cash controls.
• Maintain safe, orderly work environment and safe equipment use.
• Collaborate with Store Management on loss prevention procedures.
• Complete required reports on time and share insights with leadership.
• Communicate and implement policies; report concerns to leadership.
• Plan and organize work to boost customer service and protect assets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
