Job summary

Dollar General Corporation in Ohio seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store and to support the Store Manager with supervision of staff, inventory control and financial integrity. You will also handle stocking, cashiering, and deposits to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

You will open/close the store part of the week, train employees, enforce policies, and assist with merchandising and planograms while protecting company assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise via receiving, stocking, restocking and building displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning and paperwork.
• Assist in planogram implementation and maintain presentation standards.
• Ensure cashier accountability, cash control and deposits; assist in manager absence.
