Job summary

Family Dollar in Glenwood, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day functions, help customers, supervise and train store associates, and ensure store standards and safety procedures are followed.

This part-time role offers exposure to merchandising, payroll and loss prevention duties, with opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Retail or store management experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication and customer service skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to handle varied duties including opening/closing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines with store associates.
