Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Ohio to support store operations under the Store Manager. You will assist with scheduling, training, and safety compliance, and help drive profitability while protecting assets.

Responsibilities include customer service leadership, merchandising, and cash handling, with open/close duties at least two days weekly. Prior retail and supervisory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to perform cashier functions and generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and displaying.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and facility controls.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandise presentation follows Store Manager direction.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, refunds and overrides.
• Assist with management of the store in the Store Manager's absence.
