Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Ohio to help supervise store employees, manage merchandise presentation, and protect assets. The role involves stocking, cashiering, deposits, and supporting the Store Manager with scheduling and training.

You will open/close the store several days a week, ensure policy compliance, and contribute to profitability while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to handle cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning and paperwork.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms; ensure proper presentation.
• Assist with financial integrity: refunds/overrides, count tills, bank deposits.
• Assist in managing the store in the Store Manager's absence.
