Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. The role involves assisting with daily store activities, organizing merchandise, and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and employees.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, inventory control, supervising associates, and maintaining promotional displays while upholding company policies and standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery environment preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and operations.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record-keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed by associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and presentable, including restrooms and floors.
