Job summary

Family Dollar seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced environment. You will assist with merchandise flow, opening/closing procedures, and adherence to company policies while supervising and training store associates.

The role emphasizes maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming store, handling payroll and scheduling, and ensuring high standards of customer service. Part-time position with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays; oversee merchandise flow.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, and record-keeping (including payroll and cash handling).
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and secure assets.
