Job summary

Dollar Tree in Las Cruces, NM is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, support customer service, and help develop the store team. Responsibilities include assisting with merchandising, opening/closing procedures, loss prevention, scheduling, and payroll tasks while maintaining a clean, organized sales floor and stockroom.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, store management experience in retail, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred; read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean daily including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
