Job summary

Family Dollar in Kansas City, KS is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, support customer service, and develop the team. You will assist with merchandising, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining store standards and safety.

This role requires strong communication and teamwork, with the ability to lift up to 55 lbs and work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Support merchandising and stock organization from delivery to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and store cleanliness.
• Assist in payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies.
