Job summary

Belk in California seeks a Merchandising Team Manager to lead a team of associates in store operations, merchandising, and facilities activities, delivering a superior customer experience and driving sales and profitability.

You will coordinate front- and back-of-house tasks, support assortments and promotions, and ensure planograms and pricing accuracy. The role requires 3+ years in Visual Merchandising or Retail Management and strong coaching, planning, and execution abilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Visual Merchandising or Retail Management.
• Ability to coach and develop team members through mentorship and feedback.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on results.
• Comfortable with technology and store systems.
• Ability to manage store operations, inventory, pricing, and promotions.

Responsibilities

• Owns ownership and accountability for store objectives and key metrics.
• Lead back-of-house operations including receiving, inbound/outbound deliveries, and inventory.
• Direct front-of-house operations: product placement, floor sets, replenishment, pricing, promotions, audits, and customer service.
• Collaborate with selling and visual teams to manage merchandise presentations and planograms.
• Participate in weekly leadership planning and align tasks with company priorities and processes.
• Develop team knowledge of merchandising and omni processes; coach and develop associates.
• Set clear priorities and regularly review performance to drive results.
• Drive retention and engagement through recognition and celebrating store achievements.
• Support recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding to maintain a ready-now bench.
• Ensure asset protection, safety, and inventory accuracy.
