Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store operations leader to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day activities across store departments. You will mentor team members and implement strategies to enhance customer service and sales while maintaining store standards.

The role emphasizes staffing decisions, career development, conflict resolution, and adherence to safety protocols, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members in the organization in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and by addressing root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization including SDITs, team members in hourly positions and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach for advancement and development.
• Improve customer service and drive store sales while meeting customer needs.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime hours and product presentation.
• Ensure a safe work environment and uphold company standards.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Ensure thorough training of team members and adherence to required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to deliver exceptional service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
