Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, and handling inventory, stocking, and paperwork. This temporary role develops an external candidate for the Store Manager position and runs for a limited period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of leadership/managerial experience preferred.
• Two or more years of retail grocery store experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging of merchandise per guidelines.
• Assist in inventory management including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork and controls.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Ensure store procedures and cash handling policies are followed.
• Participate in opening and closing activities.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, well-stocked store and safe environment.
• Operate the store in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
