Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager with staffing, inventory, merchandising and store operations. This role helps in developing external candidates for the Store Manager track and is for a limited period.

Responsibilities include assisting in recruitment, maintaining store presentation, managing inventory, cash controls and adherence to company policies in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret operational documents and keep accurate records.
• Knowledge of cash handling and inventory control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and proper pricing and display.
• Help manage inventory, damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and policy compliance.
• Open and close the store as needed and ensure cash controls.
• Review store performance and summarize trends in sales and labor.
