Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store processes, staff, and daily operations in Dayton, OH. You will recruit, train, and evaluate employees, manage inventory and cash controls, and ensure safe, compliant store performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Certain store locations may give preference to bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and policies; ensure store is staffed.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel up to termination.
• Make recommendations regarding pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Ensure store is staffed and opened/closed daily.
• Personally open the store at least twice weekly and close at least twice weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends, expenses, shrink, and errors.
• Order to meet in-stock targets; review ordering and inventory weekly; manage BSR/cycle counts.
• Facilitate staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise per processes.
• Ensure merchandise presentation and pricing per standards; handle signage.
• Maintain inventory and cash control; ensure store security.
• Provide exceptional customer service leadership and a safe environment.
