Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. You will recruit, train, evaluate, and counsel staff, ensure compliance with federal and state laws, and lead cash handling and security procedures.

You will also monitor performance, manage inventory and merchandising, and maintain a safe, well-organized store while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, evaluate performance and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement; ensure compliance with laws.
• Communicate performance expectations and conduct regular meetings.
• Open and close store with adherence to procedures.
• Monitor sales, expenses and inventory; manage BSR and cycle counts.
• Ensure accurate merchandising, pricing and signage; maintain inventory controls.
• Maintain cashier accountability and store security practices.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe environment.
