Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. You will recruit, train, and evaluate staff, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies while driving sales and profitability.

You will oversee cash handling, inventory control, security, and customer service, maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 1 year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to read and interpret documents like diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per federal/state laws and company policies; ensure the store is properly staffed.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and address gaps up to termination if needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement; communicate expectations regularly.
• Ensure store is staffed and opened/closed correctly each day.
• Maintain inventory levels, manage cycles, and review ordering plans weekly.
