Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, including staffing, training, and daily process execution. The role entails managing ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, and staff supervision to ensure effective store performance.

You will lead recruiting, training, evaluations, and adherence to safety, cash handling, and company policies, while maintaining open communication with team members and customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rates and advancement.
• Communicate performance, safety and policies; conduct regular meetings and events.
• Open and close the store reliably several times per week.
• Evaluate sales, profitability, stock turns and shrink.
• Oversee stock replenishment and cycle counts to meet in-stock targets.
• Ensure proper merchandising, pricing, signage, and fixture use.
• Maintain inventory integrity and prevent damages, losses, and mispricing.
• Uphold cash control, cashier accountability and security procedures.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe store environment.
