Dollar General is seeking an experienced Store Manager to oversee shop operations, staffing, and customer service at our Lynchburg, VA area store.

You will recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate employees; manage ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and loss prevention; and ensure daily opening/closing and policy compliance. Strong leadership and retail experience required; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 1 year of management experience in retail preferred.
• Ability to recruit, train and supervise staff.
• Knowledge of cash handling and security procedures.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsabilités

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is staffed.
• Provide training; conduct performance evaluations; coaching up to termination.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate expectations; coordinate meetings to ensure safety and policies.
• Ensure store opening and closing each day; personally open/close at least twice weekly.
• Analyze operating statements for trends, profits, shrink, and errors.
• Manage ordering to meet in-stock targets; review weekly plans.
• Facilitate proper staging, stocking and storage of merchandise.
• Ensure merchandise presentation and pricing accuracy.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cash controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe, well-organized store.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available to staff.
• Follow SOPs, handbooks and deadlines for paperwork.
