Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations in Virginia. You will manage staffing, training, scheduling, and performance, while ensuring accurate inventory, cash control, and adherence to company policies.

Strong leadership and communication are essential for delivering excellent customer service and achieving sales targets. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and store presentation, while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures manuals.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Monitors operating statements to identify business trends, expense control opportunities, and potential shrink.
• Orders to meet or exceed in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan and cycle counts weekly.
• Ensures merchandise is presented according to established practices with pricing and signage.
• Maintains a safe and clean store environment and ensures cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
