Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in retail preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
• Strong math and cash handling skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps and counsel as needed.
• Recommend pay rates and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance, conduct, and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store as required, two times per week.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Manage inventory: ordering, stock and cycle counts.
• Maintain merchandising standards including pricing and signage.
• Maintain cashier accountability and cash controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment.
• Ensure store is equipped with necessary tools.
• Follow SOPs and deadlines for paperwork.
