Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, staffing and customer service. The role requires leading recruiting, training, and performance evaluations, with a focus on safety, policy compliance and financial integrity.

You will manage opening/closing, inventory management, and daily operations to ensure a well‑presented, customer‑friendly store.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire, counsel and terminate per policy including legal compliance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to labor laws and policies; ensures store is properly staffed.
• Provides training, conducts performance evaluations, identifies gaps and counsels or terminates as needed.
• Makes recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings to ensure safety and policy compliance.
• Ensures proper opening/closing, staffing, and daily store operations.
• Evaluates operating statements for sales, profitability, and inventory turns; controls expenses and shrink.
• Manages stock levels, ordering plans, and cycle counts; oversees BSR.
• Ensures merchandise presentation, pricing, and signage per standards.
• Maintains inventory accuracy and cash controls.
• Delivers superior customer service leadership and maintains a safe, organized store.
