Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced Store Manager to oversee daily operations, staff management, and store performance. You will lead staffing, training, and policy adherence while ensuring safe and welcoming environments for customers and employees.

You will drive inventory accuracy, order planning, and merchandising presentation, while maintaining financial integrity and ensuring timely open/close procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all employees in planning and implementation of store processes: ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation and selling.
• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and company policies to ensure proper staffing.
• Train employees, conduct performance evaluations, identify gaps and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings to promote safety and policy adherence.
• Open and close the store at least twice per week, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
• Evaluate operating statements for trends, profitability and inventory issues.
• Order to meet in-stock targets and manage weekly inventory and cycle counts.
• Present merchandise according to established practices and ensure pricing and signage are correct.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, cash controls, and security practices.
