Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store manager to lead all store processes including staffing, ordering, receiving, stocking and selling. You will recruit, train, evaluate staff and uphold safety, cash handling and inventory controls while delivering strong customer service.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, analyzing sales trends, managing stock plans, and ensuring compliance with company policies and federal/state laws. Strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; management experience in retail is advantageous.
• Ability to recruit, hire, train and evaluate staff in compliance with labor laws.
• Strong knowledge of cash handling, inventory, safety, and loss prevention.
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, address gaps and counseling.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement; ensure compliance with laws.
• Communicate expectations; conduct meetings to promote safety and policies.
• Open/close the store on schedule and maintain proper staffing.
• Evaluate business trends, manage expenses, and identify opportunities.
• Order and manage stock levels; review plans and cycle counts weekly.
• Staging, stocking and presentation of merchandise; ensure correct pricing and signage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and security procedures; cashier accountability.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and maintain a clean store.
