Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager in Alliance, OH to lead all store operations, staffing, training and compliance. You will drive sales, manage inventory, and ensure high standards of customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will recruit, coach and evaluate team members, enforce policies, and open/close the store as needed. Prior retail management and strong communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams and procedures.
• Strong mathematical skills for cashiering and inventory tasks.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Experience with IBM cash registers and POS systems is advantageous.
• Attention to detail and effective interpersonal communication.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct evaluations and counseling as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open and close the store on a regular basis as scheduled.
• Monitor sales, profitability and inventory; review planning and replenishment.
• Manage in-stock targets, ordering and cycle counts; ensure proper staging of merchandise.
• Present merchandise with correct pricing and signage; maintain inventory accuracy.
• Ensure cashier accountability and security practices; handle cash and deposits.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and maintain a safe store environment.
