Qualifications

• Reads and interprets documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Performs mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knows cash handling procedures, cashier accountability, and deposit controls.
• Learns and performs cash register functions to generate reports.
• Understands inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Familiar with cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Knows recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices including legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising, staging, stocking, and pricing of merchandise.
• Assists in inventory management, including damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and controls; prepares inventories.
• Follows ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provides customer service leadership.
• Follows company procedures and policies.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures safe deposit of company funds; maintains cash controls and security.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores; provides a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operates store in the manager’s absence.
• Reviews operating statements for trends and opportunities; controls expenses and shrink.
