Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in operating the store efficiently. You will help supervise staff, assist with inventory, merchandising, and transactions, while upholding company policies and procedures.

This role involves daily interaction with customers and employees and may include travel to nearby stores. The ideal candidate has retail experience, strong communication, and organizational skills, with a willingness to develop into a full Store

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities and support Store Manager.
• Assist with merchandising, staging, stocking, and pricing per store direction.
• Assist in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and reporting.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain store safety, cleanliness, and proper cash control.
• Participate in opening and closing activities and bank deposits.
• Review financial statements to identify trends and opportunities.
