Job summary

Dollar General Store in the United States is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager with daily operations, staffing, inventory, merchandising and cashier controls. This role develops internal candidates for the Store Manager track and remains in scope for a limited period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, interview and train staff.
• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposits and cash control procedures.
• Experience with inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and inventory management.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and ensure in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and follow company policies.
• Participate in store opening/closing activities and cash handling.
• Review operating statements and identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on schedule.
