Job summary

Dollar General Store is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervision, staffing, inventory, stock, and store operations. You will help ensure accurate merchandising, cash handling, and compliance with company policies.

Role is designed to foster the development of an external candidate for the Store Manager position and will be held for a limited period, with exposure to leadership tasks and store performance review.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with merchandising including staging, stocking and pricing.
• Assist in inventory management and perform cycle counts.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Adhere to company policies and SOPs.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure cash handling integrity and deposit controls.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in absence of store manager.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and deadlines.
