Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, merchandising, and daily store operations. The role aims to develop external candidates for future Store Manager positions and is a temporary, limited-period assignment.

Responsibilities include assisting in staffing, inventory control, ordering, cashier controls, and maintaining store standards. Travel to multiple Dollar General stores may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing per established practices.
• Assist in inventory management and store paperwork flows.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Participate in store opening/closing.
• Ensure proper cash handling and bank deposits.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Manage store in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all required paperwork.
