Qualifications

• Reads and interprets documents, safety rules, and procedures.
• Performs basic math including percentages and totals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and reporting.
• Understands inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knows cash, facility and safety control policies (deposits, keys, security).
• Recruits, hires and trains staff; ensures regulatory compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills.
• Organizes tasks with attention to detail; effective time management.
• Ability to solve problems in varied situations; adaptable to change.
• Some locations may prefer bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Support store merchandising and stock presentation.
• Help manage inventory, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Adhere to Dollar General policies and SOPs.
• Participate in opening/closing tasks.
• Safeguard company funds and manage cash controls.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager's absence.
• Review financials to identify trends and improve profitability.
• Complete all required paperwork on time.
